Building Bosses Cohort 3 – A Participant’s Perspective

As pitch day approaches for the Building Bosses cohort 3, we sat down with some of our participants and asked for insights into their experience throughout the 3-month program.


Here is what four of our participants had to say:


Petrina Aron, aged 21, is the founder of a start-up called Integrated Style which offers personalised custom-made and reused clothing.

What are your main take-aways from the program? Mainly how to run a business and how to use essential computer applications such as PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for my business’s financials.

How would you describe the Building Bosses program? The whole team is so welcoming and easy to work with, and the program in general is very fun!

What is your message to the next participants in cohort 4? Don’t give up! Be confident. And remember the program is here to help you and your business. You will continue to use the skills you learn during the program even when the program ends.


Macmillan Toromba, aged 23, is the founder of MegaBin Cleaning which offers specialised dustbin cleaning services for the community.

What are your main take-aways from the program? I learnt how to manage a business properly, the importance of business ethics and how to manage my company’s finances.

How would you describe the Building Bosses program? It is very educational but fun at the same time! The team and program as a whole are so reliable.

What is your message to the next participants in cohort 4? It is a very productive and beneficial program. My experience has been mind blowing!

Tiffany Khoeses, aged 19, is the founder of Elevating Holidays which offers fun and educational leisure activities for learners during school holidays.

What are your main take-aways from the program? How to gain and keep customers, especially for my business idea.

How would you describe the Building Bosses program? All-in-all, an awesome experience!

What is your message to the next participants in cohort 4? Do not quit!! It is a great experience and is honestly worthwhile.


Pedro Pasile, aged 20, is the founder of the Redhoop Basketball Academy which offers not only basketball practice for children, but teaches them important social and life skills.

What are your main take-aways from the program? The program helped me come up with my business idea and important computer skills. I learnt what is needed to effectively run a business.

How would you describe the Building Bosses program? Fun! The whole environment is welcoming, and the program leaders are very understanding.

What is your message to the next participants in cohort 4? It is an opportunity you need to take seriously. Even if you don’t land up winning on pitch day, you learn so many important skills and you can start-up and carry on your business idea.


The general enthusiasm and appreciation received from the participants was overwhelming and a key indication of the program’s success!
